Ritway's story begins with Coca-Cola. Dick Ewers built Coca-Cola menu boards through his New York company, Ridan Displays, and in 1987 his son Wade and Joan married and moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. Ritway was incorporated on March 1, 1988.
The early work centered on point-of-sale materials for Coca-Cola's Bottling and Fountain divisions, and grew into full distribution for Coca-Cola Fountain. Orders moved from handwritten tickets to fax to computers, but one thing never changed: customer service became Ritway's hallmark. A 30,000 square foot facility on Middle Creek Lane was quickly outgrown.
Ritway then built the facility that anchors the company today on East Weisgarber Road, now part of Mountain View Partners with six buildings in Acker Place. The operation diversified into manufacturing, call center services, and distribution for national brands, yet the core mission endured: deliver quality products, fair prices, and professional service, with care.
Today, more than three-quarters of the U.S. population resides within 500 miles of our shipping bays, positioned at the juncture of I-40, I-75, and I-81. Now in our fourth decade, much of our senior leadership has been with Ritway for more than twenty years. We have grown significantly, but our commitment to treating clients and employees like family remains exactly the same as day one.
